It's A Good Thing: High 5 Pie's Dani Cone on Martha Stewart

High 5 Pie's Dani Cone to appear on The Martha Stewart Show
It's always cause for celebration when someone from Seattle makes it onto the national circuit for good reason, so today, we're raising a latte to Dani Cone.

The locally-based coffee and pie maven behind Fuel and High 5 Pie will soon be sharing the stage with Our Lady of Domesticity, Martha Stewart. And she's not the first to do it.

Earlier this year, cheese luminary Kurt Timmermeister chatted with Martha about cooking, his "rustic" (read: run-down, but on-the-mend) farm on Vashon, and his book, Growing a Farmer: How I Learned To Live Off the Land. Cone is on a similar mission--she'll be bending Mama Stewart's ear about the release of her new book, Cutie Pies.

Cone's got other big news in the works, too--but this time, it's coffee-and-philanthropy related. Each year, to commemorate a friend lost to breast cancer, Cone donates 10% of sales at Fuel to cancer research--it's called Fuel the Cure. On Sept. 30 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., she'll be hosting the Fuel the Cure Kick-Off (though, it's not at Fuel). Stop by High 5 Pie at 1400 12th Ave with pictures, memories or notes of those you've lost to share with others, and Cone will add them to her window displays.

You can catch Cone on The Martha Stewart Show on Monday, Oct. 3.
