Not-so-Golden Bears: Over the course of four games, the Huskies have had 1,813 total yards of offense run and thrown against them, and opposing teams have put a total of 133 points on the board. Those are dreadful numbers. Fortunately for the Huskies, they are dreadful numbers that don't really matter. UW is 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference, which means the team's offense has proven more than capable of scoring points of their own. Saturday's game against Cal was the opening of PAC-12 conference play, and quarterback Keith Price was in fine form with three touchdown passes. UW's defense even managed to throw their weight around, limiting Cal's running game to just over 100 yards. Final score, UW 31, Cal 23.
Next Up: Away against PAC-12 newcomer Utah.

One in the Win Column: No doubt the Seahawks woke up this morning relieved to have risen from the bottom of the NFC West. It wasn't a pretty win, no timeless sports classic to be seen at CenturyLink Field this weekend, but when you're 0-2 and favored for a third loss, pretty wins aren't your biggest concern. The mini reunion of former Vikings teammates Tavaris Jackson and Sidney Rice resulted in 8 receptions and 109 yards. Compare that with Arizona's standout WR Larry Fitzgerald, who only managed 64 yards on the day. There were no touchdowns for Rice in his regular season debut, but Jackson scrambled into the end zone late in the third quarter for the Seahawks' only TD of the game and what would be the final scoring drive from either team. Final score: 13-10 Seahawks.
Next Up: The Atlanta Falcons are in town hoping to turn their season around.

Smooth Sailing: The Sounders rolled over the Vancouver Whitecaps this weekend, securing not only a spot in the MLS playoffs, but also Pacific Northwest bragging rights as they were crowned Cascadia Cup champs over their regional rivals Portland and Vancouver. The Whitecaps may have scored first on Saturday, but goals from Sounders midfielder Brad Evans in the first half and two from forward Freddy Montero in the second ensured a 3-1 victory for Seattle. With four games left in the regular season, Seattle is riding in a somewhat-comfortable second place at 7 points behind L.A. and 3 above Real Salt Lake.
Next Up: An away game against Liga Nacional's Comunicaciones on Tuesday.
