Ever since we wrapped up our first-everSeattlest Music Presents show earlier this year, we've been craving the excitement of producing a second (and third and fourth and fifth...). Of course, it took a lot of work--but it was totally worth it to have you, our readers, experiencing artists we're excited about. Now, we've got a brand new way to do it.

But the event made us wonder: what can we do to make our future shows a more interesting and intimate experience for everyone in attendance? We do have the unique and privileged opportunity to play with the standard format of what we all consider to be a typical concert setup...but how can we put it to use?

As we rolled this question around in our heads, all sorts of new ideas cropped up. But the one that finally took shape is this, the Seattlest Loft Sessions. The basic idea is to invite a few musicians to play acoustic sets in an intimate environment in which they can connect with their fans. We want to create an experience that's more of a conversation than a simple performance.

A friend of Seattlest and talented musician, BC Campbell, suggested we start putting on shows in his artist loft home in Pioneer Square. We, of course, immediately jumped on the opportunity

as our minds reeled with the possibilities. Soon we started talking to Adam Wygle, a talented videographer whom has recently turned his lens and talents toward local concerts. A little while ago he started a unique project dubbed All Cameras On. He requests concert audience members capture video of a particular song on their iPhones, Androids, cameras, or whatever video-related equipment they might have on hand. Once they've uploaded their videos to his site, he edits them together to make something wholly intimate and unique. The audience is able to take an active role in creating something new at every show.. He recently finished one from Kris Orlowski's CD release show at Columbia City Theater, and it is absolutely worth a look.

After these two gents joined the conversation, the pieces just fell into place, and now, we're happy to announce the first Seattlest Loft Session will be during Pioneer Square's First Thursday Art Walk on October 6th.

The entire building will be open to the public as part of the art walk, so it will be easy to wander in and out as the music flows beautifully through the open space. Next week we'll have an interview with BC and discuss a little more about what the Loft Sessions will be, whom will be playing the first show and the future of the project.

We're practically giddy with excitement about this new venture and we hope to see you there!
