Seattle not Crazy Enough for Militia Terrorists
Right, we're the crazy ones. Courtesy of the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner
It seems almost quaint now, but during the Clinton years, it was only this fringe subculture who thought the President was a a socialist dictator at the head of multiple internationalist conspiracies to undermine American sovereignty. The movement lost steam with a Republican in the White House, but recruitment into private "militias" has skyrocketed with a black Democrat in office (and with cable news and talk radio hosts echoing militia movement talking points).
A few months ago, a handful of these loons- the self-styled "Alaska Peacemakers Militia," were arrested by State Police for plotting to kill several federal officials. Yesterday, lawyers for one of the group's leaders filed to have his client's trial moved from Anchorage to Fairbanks citing, among other things that Alaskans "say the best thing about Anchorage is that it's only an hour away from Seattle" and "Some see Anchorage as a suburb of Seattle" (with Anchorage over 2,000 miles away, the war against urban sprawl is clearly already lost). The argument seems to be that big-government commies like us will somehow not approve of terrorist assassination of police, judges and IRS workers; for once, we can be in agreement.
Congratulations, godless gay Muslim socialist comrades, on conquering Anchorage for the UN conspiracy. May atheist Allah bless Chairman Obama!
