Give Bees a Chance at Pollinator Pathway's Picnic This Weekend

Last month, we shared news about Pink Door's fundraiser to fight hive collapse and give bees a hand. Now, word on the street is that the Corson Building and the folks at Pollinator Pathway have gotten stung by the buzz, and are doing their part to help the hard workin' little dudes of Seattle by hosting a picnic this weekend, on September 25 .

We’re certain you’ve heard of the Corson Building, but you may not be familiar with the Pollinator Pathway, an ambitious effort to create a mile-long corridor of pollinator-friendly gardens along Columbia Street, between Seattle U. and 28th. This bee-loving group has already finished 11 gardens, which make it easy for the striped insects to do what they do best--spread pollen and help maintain plant-life, and is hoping to create 20 more in the corridor.

But good intentions and hard work only go so far, and sometimes hard cash needs to enter the equation to make a project like this go. Here's where you come in.

Pollinator Pathway is holding a fundraiser at Corson Building with food by Matt Dillon (not the actor), a pollinator-inspired cocktail by Sambar's Jay Kuehner, and foot stomping music served up by the Tallboys. Want in on the fun? Check out their website, or buy tickets from Brown Paper Tickets.

Pollinator Picnic // Sunday, Sept. 25 // 5609 Corson Ave. // 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. // $35 (which includes food)
