What do you get when you take a room full of nerds, a stage, and 5 improv actors Last night, NERDProv, in conjunction with Unexpected Productions and presented by Geek Girl Con put on a geek-a-rificly themed improv show at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in West Seattle. The show was part of a series of events that Geek Girl Con has planned to promote the convention coming up on Oct. 8th and 9th at the Seattle Center and to raise money for the con. The five members of NERDProv performed a series of improv skits, including popular improv games like "Freeze Tag", "Moving Bodies, and "Time Styles" -- but all with a geeky themes based on suggestions from the audience. The sketches ranged from om a debate on "Who Shot First" to a Shakespearean Beyond Thunder-dome entitled, "To Clone or Not to Clone."

Fueled by audience participation in order to take all the games to a nerdy place no man has ever gone before, the improvers themselves have a library of geek-trivia knowledge to work from as well. As one of the actors Michael Robles of Unexpected Productions said best, "The great thing about NERDProv is that it's an entire show based on our normally obscure references. Which is great!" An audience full of nerds young and old interacting with five talented Doctor Who loving actors on stage is a recipe for awesome. Geek Girl Con chose wisely when setting up this event to get people excited for their upcoming event and pumped to delve into some exciting female-oriented geek issues that will be presented in a variety of ways at the convention next month.

You can see the NERDProv performers elsewhere, just check out the calendar at Unexpected Productions to see what those crazy kids are up to.
