Sting is Coming, Sting is Coming!

Some of you may be rolling your eyes, but there are just some musicians who simply define a generation, and influence future generations of artists. In our opinion, Sting is one of those people.

Granted, a large number of his songs could be interpreted as "stalker music," or even categorized as "easy listening," but we've all be on that fine line between love and obsession, haven't we? And in those times, all we need is the soothing melodies of one Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner. Which is Sting's real name. And now you know.

We're particularly excited about this show, because he's touring throughout North America as he is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his solo career by taking it back to "bass," according to the press release. Apparently, that means he's playing all his hits, stripped down, like when they were when they were new. The tour, by the way, is strategically scheduled to support a mega box set that's coming out on September 27th, ingeniously and originally called Sting: 25 Years.

The show is on December 5th at the Paramount, which will make it that much more incredible (because, really, seeing him at Key Arena, which we originally suspected, would be endlessly worse). Tickets range in price from $46.50 to $126.50 (not including fees) and go on sale Monday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m.

We'll remind you via our Will Call series in the next week or two. Until then, enjoy this not-so-stalkery song by the one and only Sting.

  • You know, if he did a tour where he just did the full Dream of the Blue Turtles and ...Nothing Like The Sun, I'd be down. The rest I could do without, but that's my thing.
