This Morning: South Seattle Bus Stop Shooting Leaves One Dead

King County Metro commuters with SMS alerts were awakened early this morning by texts reporting an "incident" that had caused delays to the 7, 8, 9, 14, and 48 bus routes at Rainier Ave. and S. McClellan St, but was, at the time of the 6:30 a.m. messages, already cleared up.

The incident, it is now being reported, was a shooting, which killed one man, and injured 3 others.

The Seattle Police Department released an update this morning which stated that the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. at the aforementioned bus stop, where 3 men and 1 woman, all adults, were sitting at the stop's shelter. A vehicle then approached them, and a confrontation ensued, which involved one passenger of the vehicle drawing a handgun and striking all 4 victims at the stop.

Police are currently treating the shooting as a homicide.
