Tweeter of the Week: @MOHAI

From now until I forget to do it, I'm going to highlight my favorite local Twitter user. Think of it like #FollowFriday, but less about getting followers for myself, and more about exposing accounts that are notable, humorous or informative--and always keep it under 140 characters.

twitterbird.png Seattleites love their history. Turn-of-the-century buildings, iconic figures, re-photography--if it happened here, we want to look at it, talk about it, and name something after it. Which is why the Museum of History and Industry is widely regarded as one of our regions most fascinating features.

And while museums may not have the best reputation for, you know, staying current and ahead of trends (it's not really what they trade in), MOHAI's actually done a pretty amazing job of keeping up with what the kids are doing. Including their use of Twitter.

@MOHAI features daily photographs, timely trivia, information on upcoming events and programs, reminders of closures, and pretty much everything a Seattleite needs to geek out about the city's history.

Even if you don't actually visit the museum (which you should), @MOHAI's consistently interesting stream of information will plant tiny kernels of history throughout your otherwise boring days.

Hooray, @MOHAI! You're not just a great museum about old things--you're awesome at new stuff, too!
