You might have been tight with Hidmo when they occupied the corner of 20th and Jackson... or maybe you never set foot in the door. Either way you’re invited (like a long lost second cousin) to a family reunion at their new digs.

After four years in their first home, Hidmo, which, in its past life was a combination restaurant, lounge, and community space but is now growing, took a short hop within the Central District, settling into their role as an anchor tenant at the homey Washington Hall perched at 14th and Fir. If you love to feel like part of a community, grab your self-chosen family and head out to Hidmo’s “ Family Affair” this Saturday from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

If you didn’t make it to the Washington Hall Open House (or any of last year's City Arts Fest events), this is be a great chance to take a peak at this classic building, which is getting a second chance at life with a pretty diverse group of community based arts and culture types.

Family Affair will also feature DJs, spoken word and performances by any number of Hidmo community members. And if games are your thing? Pull up a seat for cards, dominos, chess and maybe even a round or seven of Jenga. And if your posse includes little dudes, they can look forward to a multi-generational story time and plenty of other family-friendly activities, including an al fresco screen printing station.

For more information on what is sure to be a great afternoon of art, culture, cuisine and community, you can check out Hidmo's website. Meanwhile why not get into the family spirit, with a little Sly and the Family Stone?
