Patton Oswalt ♥s Seattle
As you may recall, Patton Oswalt was in town last May, in order to record a performance at the Moore that would become the basis of an hourlong special on Showtime. That special, Finest Hour, is due to go to air this coming Monday (check listings), and Oswalt spoke with the folks at The A.V. Club in order to promote it. During the course of their conversation, Oswalt began discussing his experiences with various comedy specials he's done in the past and how preparing this one compared, and in the process Oswalt revealed his affinity for the Emerald City.

Oswalt: They went really well, and this new one went even better. I had so much fun. I had exactly the crew that I wanted. I had the director, Jason Woliner, who’s amazing, and I got to be in Seattle. I don’t know what it is about Seattle. The minute I get to that city, it’s not so much that I calm down, I just feel like there’s a future, for some reason. I feel like, “Yeah, I’m gonna do this, and then, there’ll be other things I’ll do.” Whereas sometimes in Los Angeles, I just feel like, “Yeah, this is finite. This will end.” So, I like the illusion that Seattle gives me, that, “Oh yeah, there’ll be stuff going on.”
Well, we couldn't be more honored to be described this way, and please, Mr. Oswalt, rest assured: The feeling is mutual.
