Josh Groban: Fame, Fortune, Music and He Owes It To Rosie O'Donnell?

Josh Groban has been in the musical limelight for over ten years now. Though, his lofty career goals started long before as a youngster hopping from one artist-based school to the next. If we could all be so lucky, he moved to Bridges Academy from a more traditional middle school because he didn't have enough artistic input. He then participated in artistic performance camps and moved on to Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. All the while he was still planning to be a musical theater artist rather than settling into a singer/songwriter career.

That all changed when he stood in for Andrea Bocelli during rehearsals for the '99 Grammy Awards. During that fateful performance, Rosie O'Donnell was so impressed she requested he appear on her now defunct television show. That prompted David E. Kelley to create a character on Ally McBeal for Groban which was so popular amongst fans that he was given a second appearance on the next season's premiere. From that moment on his career just took off. Amongst his countless achievements he was charted as the number-one best selling artist in the United States in 2007 with over 21 million records in this country alone. To say the least, he's one of the most successful young musical artists out there and he's performing tonight at the Key Arena.

Tonight Groban will continue his Straight To You Tour which began in New Orleans, LA. This time around he's doing something a little bit different. Pulling from his theater performance background he'll be adding stage design, lighting, and projection, as well as spontaneity and interactivity. His last tour brought in audience participation through song requests and he is continuing that tradition during this tour as well. If you've ever been a fan of this incredible artist, you are bound to have a good time tonight.

Tonight at Key Arena // Show 8:00pm // tix $35.50 - $110 (plus fees), All Ages
