More Stabbing News: Police Arrest Suspect in July ATM Assault and Robbery

Nearly a month after the July 30th stabbing and robbery at a Belltown ATM, a tip has led to the arrest of a suspect in the attack.

The attack, which occurred at the corner of 3rd and Battery, initially sounded as is it may have little chance of being solved--the victim, who sustained life-threatening injuries but is now alright, was stabbed in the back just after withdrawing money, and there were no suspects. However, the ATM in question was equipped with surveillance cameras, which helped to shed some light on the situation.

Images from the camera, released by the Seattle Police, show a female in a questionable mesh top approaching the victim at the ATM. The victim identified the woman in the video as a possible witness, and a tip following the release of the images led police to question the woman. She was later booked into custody as a suspect in the attack, though it is unclear whether or not the fashion police have also been called in, regarding the mesh. Other suspects are still being sought.

This news comes shortly after updates regarding the stabbing that occurred on and around a Metro bus on 3rd Ave. last weekend. Alphonso Hope, who is a multi-state offender with a lengthy rap sheet, has been charged with second-degree assault.

As the battle for the title of Seattle's Stabbiest Neighborhood pokes along, we encourage all readers to make it a point to see something, say something, so that more arrests like this can be made.
