Blues for Food Pie Auction September 3
How long has it been since you got your dancing shoes on? Come to think of it, how long has it been since you've heard anyone talk about dancing shoes? It doesn't matter, because the 5th annual Blues for Food Festival is just around the corner, and whatever you choose to wear on your feet, just make sure they get you there.

Founded by Deb Rock (a long time Interbay P-Patch Food Bank Gardener), the Blues for Food Fest is an all-ages celebration of food and music that features some of the Northwest's best bands--and it's for a good cause. BFF (which has a real cute acronym, if you ask us) was created to raise awareness about hunger and the P-Patch gardens in Seattle, which donate over 28,000 pounds of organic produce to people in need every year.

The event is family-friendly, with lots to do including exploring worm bins, bug hunts, seed saving and making art sculptures. Facing a squash and zucchini attack? BFF will also be collecting your home-grown produce at the Lettuce Link/Solid Ground booth to help feed the hungry.

Be sure to bring an empty stomach, since they’ll be a homemade pie auction and food truck vittles from Where Ya at Matt and Pai’s.

Here are the musical groups you can look forward to shaking your groove thing to:

12:00 Alice Stuart Duo
1:00 Wired!
2:30 The Rectifiers
4:00 The Avey Brothers
5:30 James King and The Southsiders
7:00 Linda Myers’ Portland All Stars

Details: 12:00-9:00 pm Magnuson Park Amphitheatre & P-Patch
