Freeattlest Give-Away: Atmosphere at Showbox SoDo Monday

Freeattlest.png It's hard to believe that Atmosphere has been around, in some variation or another, for over 20 years, but it's true. After the release of the 2008 don't-call-it-a-comeback album When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, they've been touring almost non-stop, delighting fans across the states with Slug's Midwest themes and complex lyrics.

This year they're releasing a new album, Family Tour, that they dedicate to the ones they care about most: family, friends, and fans. And fortunately for those fans, they're bringing their hip hop talents to the Showbox SoDo (moved from the original location at the Paramount) next monday. And one of you lucky fans will win tickets to see this tongue-twisting twosome by playing along with Seattlest.

On the theme of their new album and tour, we want you to tell us your favorite thing about family vacations. Either your favorite memory or why you love spending every minute of every day with your relatives. Remember only one entry per person (and leave your email address in the comment so we can let you know if you've won).

Your entry has to be in by this Sunday morning at 11am, so get it on it you little timebombs, and have fun with this one.

My favorite family vacation memory was when my dad surprised us with a trip to Disneyland one summer. He rented a convertable and we drove down 101 with the top down and my sister and I huddled under a blanket in the backseat. It was one of my dad's coolest moments in my eyes and that drive is still one if my favorites.

    Thanks!

  • My favorite childhood trip memory was going to california with my parents and grandparents, near carmel.. I was allowed to climb this huge rock jutting up out of the water and thought that was the coolest thing in the world, made cooler by the fact that it was on the cali coast, since I was from florida, where everything's flat.

  • Family vacation memory: I love how when you're little, you REALLY go on vacation. You don't think about the house, the pets, work, etc., you just go have an awesome time and are sad when it comes to an end. I wish I could be as vacation-y as an adult! kati.davich@gmail.com (PS - I'm from MSP. LOVE Atmosphere!)
