Tweeter of the Week: @Seatransitblog

twitterbird.png From now until I forget to do it, I'm going to highlight my favorite Seattle Tweeter. Think of it like #FollowFriday, but less about getting followers for myself, and more about exposing Twitter accounts that are notable, humorous or informative--and always under 140 characters.

Currently, King County is in an uncomfortable limbo, regarding the future of Metro. After the County Council's quibbling ended in the single most unsatisfying political moment of all time last month, area transit riders are left wondering whether or not their bus will be coming by for much longer--and whether or not the voters of King County will see how critical that bus is to their life and livelihood.

And in these tumultuous times, it's necessary to have a clear, concise voice on the issue. Someone who dedicates their time to truly understanding and parsing out the various nuances of the Council, Metro, and the County's decisions that impact our bus rides. Consistently, the Seattle Transit Blog has filled that role with perfection. And consistently, they've reminded us of that with their excellent use of Twitter.

Congrats, @Seatransitblog. You're our favorite Tweeter this week--because you let us know what's going on with our buses.

If you have ever realized too late that your bus has been rerouted to 3rd Ave., instead of 4th, you need to follow @Seatransitblog. If you've ever wondered what the eff is going on with snow routes, you need to follow @Seatransitblog. If you've ever sat through hours of public testimony because if they cancel the 73, you will be stranded, you need to follow @Seatransitblog. Because all of these are not only covered under the actual blog's umbrella of expertise--they are all updated, quickly and clearly, on the blog's Twitter account.

Thanks again, Seattle Transit Blog. Without you on our Twitter feed, we'd be out in the cold, literally and figuratively.
