Extra, Extra: Sad Confirmations and Giant Jellyfish

  • After conflicting reports regarding the welfare of the cyclist who was struck by a hit-and-run driver yesterday, KOMO is reporting that the man, who has been identified, is dead. We are so sorry for his family's loss.
  • Danger for cyclists is only one of the reasons cited in Cascade Bicycle Club's opposition to Referendum 1, which, if approved, would signify voter support for the deep-bore tunnel. Other reasons include the lack of transit options and the cost.
  • In other news, a giant jellyfish has washed ashore in Stanwood. Daaaaaamn!
  • And finally, our fine state has filed suit (again) against the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, in hopes that they will reconsider Yucca Mountain, in Nevada, as a dumping ground for the waste at Hanford.
