Extra, Extra: Stolen Art Still Stolen, No Bridge for Kurt and Freedom for the Jar-Headed Coyote

  • Earlier today, we reported that a series of 5 paintings depicting Mexican independence and culture were stolen from an opening at Art Space Hiawatha. They have still not been recovered. The missing pieces could, KOMO reports, jeopardize the upcoming tour of artist Esteban Silva.
  • Aberdeenians have angrily rejected a proposal to name a bridge in the city after Kurt Cobain. We think this is for the best.
  • The young coyote who was spotted around Seattle with its head stuck in a plastic jar has been saved, officials are reporting. According to the times, a South Seattle man and his partner saw the cub and removed the jar.
  • In other canine news, police have arrested 1 suspect in connection to a dog-fighting ring, and have rescued 4 dogs.
