ZooNooz: Those Tiny Turtles will Save You $5 on Admission

On Saturday, we rocked your life with this photo of a tiny turtle, and told you all about the Western Pond Turtle Recovery Project.

What we forgot to tell you was that, in honor of those little dudes who are being released back into the wild as part of the 20th anniversary of this project, the Zoo is going to let you shell out a little less cash on admission this week.

Starting today and lasting until Friday, you and your family can save $5 on admission per person, to celebrate the resurgence of the Western Pond turtle in Seattle's waters.

Since the project began, the population of the Western Pond Turtle has grown from about 150 turtles in the wild, to around 1,500 turtles. Hooray for these tough turtles--and for saving money at the Zoo.
