Extra, Extra: Jobs, Schools and a Big Diss to Boeing
- A jobs report released today revealed what everyone already knew: that the economy is growing at a maddening slow rate.
- Seattle Public Schools are planning to shutter every school in the district for one day, in an attempt to shore up their budgets, in light of educational cuts made in the last legislative session. Teachers and administrators will be taking the unpaid furlough day on August 31.
- American Airlines dealt Boeing a large blow today, when they decided to purchase a hugely expensive order from both Airbus and Boeing, rather than simply from Boeing, whom they'd previously been exclusive with.
