LUNCH DATE: What's your plan for lunch today? Heat up a Lean Cuisine and read gossip blogs? Save it for tomorrow. Gather your favorite co-workers and step outside for Out to Lunch, Seattle's free outdoor concert series, today at Waterfront Park. On the bill today is Star Anna and the Laughing Dogs, who offer a twangy blend of soul and country. And if you boss asks where you're going? Invite her along. She'll think you're so in-the-know.

OCTOBER IN JULY: Every Halloween, you're torn. Do you dress up in your Frank n' Furter costume and shout at Janet, or do you get boozy in some bar with your buddies? You always choose the latter, but it leaves you with a giant, Rocky Horror Picture Show-sized hole in your heart. Make up for all those times you missed the show, with ArtsWest performance, featuring the young people of their summer musical theater internship program. Get ready to do the time warp with some talented kids.

SHE KISSED A GIRL: No, not Katy Perry. Jill Sobule, who is best known for her kitschy, one-time-lesbian jam "I Kissed a Girl," is back to the stage, and she's bringing with her a most interesting collaborator: John Doe, of L.A.'s X, a well-loved punk band. Tonight, they grace the Tractor Tavern for a rare seated show, as part of the tour for their album together, A Day at the Pass. The two have been working together for a while, so the album is a long time in the making, and the stage performance is sure to be a fun blend of several music stylings.
