Extra, Extra: Tragedy, Obesity and Shawn Kemp Jr.
- Residents of Washington (and just about every other state) are getting fatter getting fatter, according to a state-by-state obesity study released today.
- An act of kindness turned to tragedy in Snoqualmie last night after a driver slowed to pick up a stranded woman walking along the side of the road. Both the driver and the woman were killed when a semi-truck slammed into the back of the car.
- In other super-sad news, a 17-year-old boy from Lacey was stabbed to death early this morning. The fight, officials say, broke out over a pack of cigarettes.
- And, on a positive note, Shawn Kemp Jr., son of Seattle SuperSonics sweetheart Shawn Kemp, has signed a scholarship agreement today, adding him to the ranks of the 2011 Huskies, exciting sports nerds across the city.
