Can't Miss It: Tuesday
MovieCat Trivia - the only game that combines cats and movies and trivia. Live tonight at Central Cinema.
THE PARTY DON'T STOP: America's independence from Great Britain isn't the only thing we're celebrating this week. Seattle is host to the Lions Club International 94th International Convention. As is customary with all Lions Club International conventions, the event will start with the Parade of Nations. More than 10,000 people are expected to participate, many in native dress. There will be colorful floats, loud music, and a blind marching band from Ohio. The parade starts at 10 am at the Seattle Center and continues down 5th Avenue to its conclusion at the convention center. Basically, downtown is going to be really messy with lots of people and traffic this morning.

QUARTER-CENTURY: Seminal jam band Widespread Panic is celebrating their 25th anniversary with a new album and a tour. Dirty Side Down is the band's 11th album and critics have called it "invigorating" and "sprawling". Tonight's show at the Paramount Theatre is not to be missed. Widespread Panic's relentless touring not only got them solidified them in music history as "road warriors" but also the countless shows served to shape them into one extraordinary live band.

TRIVIA CHALLENGE: If you have an iPhone or iPad you may already be familiar with MovieCat Trivia. However, if you are unfamiliar with this app, then you should know that MovieCat is a film trivia game that combines questions with visual puzzles. Central Cinema brings this game to life on the fourth Tuesday of every month. And this ain't your average trivia night. First, the quizmasters are dressed up in cat costumes. Second, these quizmasters don't just read a list of questions. This game uses the full capability of the theater - pictures are displayed, audio clips are played, and video clips are shown. It's like a real game show.
