- Amazon rolled out its new daily deal feature, AmazonLocal, today, ending a 16-year streak of being a strictly online vendor. It remains to be seen whether or not anyone in America has space in their inbox for yet another deal site.
- Add Ingraham High School students to the ranks of those area folks who've garnered national attention this week. The school will be featured on ESPN's "Extreme Makeover."
- Early this morning, a taxi plowed through the plate-glass window of the Chase bank at Second and Union. No one was hurt.
- And finally, a piece of non-local sadness: Actor Peter Falk died yesterday. Falk, who changed all of our young lives with his portrayal of the easily-distracted, delightfully stumbling Columbo, was 83 years old.
