Tweeter of the Week: @NFMASeattle
From now until I forget to do it, I'm going to highlight my favorite Seattle Tweeter. Think of it like #FollowFriday, but less about getting followers for myself, and more about exposing Twitter accounts that are notable, humorous or informative--and always under 140 characters.
Last week, I picked SeattleBuskers, because of their useful information about some of the City's most underrated artists: our local street musicians. This week, I'm food-focused (probably because the sun is out and regional strawberries are finally ripe), and so is my pick for top Tweeter: NFMASeattle, the official Twitter account of the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance.
NFMASeattle regularly Tweets new arrivals to the seven food-only markets around the city, as well as day-of reminders, recommended merchants and even craft projects and other DIY ideas. This week, they've got you covered with last-minute ideas for Father's Day (which is this weekend. Get it together.), as well as listings of what's fresh and ready for the picking--or purchasing, as the case may be.
Great job, NFMASeattle, for using new-ish technologies to promote an age-old tradition of farm-to-table eating.
Have you got a nomination for Tweeter of the Week? Let me know on (what else?) Twitter, at @Seattlest.
