- A fire at an electrical substation in Redmond turned the lights off across the Eastside today. The fire, which started around noon, was treated by a foam truck from SeaTac Airport.
- The deep-bored tunnel moved one step closer to the ballot today, as the DOT announced today that they won't be filing an appeal to block the referendum.
- Senator Patty Murray received a suspicious package to her Tacoma office today. A hazmat team was brought in to assess the situation.
- Between the Fremont Fair (which is turning 40 this year), the Mariner's game, 520 and Mercer exit closures and weekend travelers, traffic is going to be real nasty this weekend. Plan ahead!
- Meanwhile, in Portland, one drunk man's urine in a reservoir forced officials to drain over 8 million gallons of drinking water. Oh, Portland.
