- Washington State's jobless rate remains above 9% today. Of course, that's still not counting those who have given up on looking for work, which tends to add about 3% or more.
- PETA is continuing to eschew rational, logical debates about animal rights, and it instead targeting Seattle's medical research labs with their signature brand of over-the-top shock-driven and accusatory advertising. Keep your eyes peeled for sad monkeys and rats all over town.
- And, in much more level-headed methods of protest, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are picketing the Space Needle, as well as raising money to get the pride flag flown.
- A Bellevue driver took some poor advice from a GPS navigation system, and piloted her SUV into a slough. More upsetting, however, is the apparent epidemic of women trusting GPSes, as evidenced by this insensitive Seattle Time's headline:
