Tweeter of the Week: @SeattleBuskers
From now until I forget to do it, each Thursday, I'm going to highlight my favorite Seattle Tweeter. Think of it like #FollowFriday, but less about getting followers for myself, and more about exposing Twitter accounts that are notable, humorous or informative--and always under 140 characters.
This week's must-follow account was brought to my attention by another fine Tweeter, KPLU, who retweeted them.
SeattleBuskers is a live-updating rundown of which performers and musicians are slated to be in the parts around the city each day. The busker program, which is part of the Department of Parks and Recreation, helps to ensure that no one area, such as Cal Anderson or Freeway Park, is overly saturated with musicians, while ensuring that each musician gets their fair shake.
The SeattleBuskers Twitter account features the day's schedule, a "Busker of the Day" and where they can be found, and also posts special events and information pertaining to the Parks Department.
Congrats to SeattleBuskers for putting Twitter to great use.
Have you got a nomination for Tweeter of the Week? Let me know on (what else?) Twitter, at @Seattlest.
