Get Free Beer: Volunteer at Seattle International Beerfest

With beer week a distance memory (save for perhaps a few new commemorative glasses in your cupboard or posters on your wall), it's time to start looking ahead to our city's next hop-heavy event: the Seattle International Beerfest.

SIB, which is a bit like Seattle Beer Week's younger, frattier little brother festival, is a weekend-long homage to tasting and tippling, held at the Mural at Seattle Center. Focusing on global, rather than local brews, SIB is a good way to expand your cultural beer knowledge, meet some people with wicked accents and spend a weekend surrounded by people like beer as much as you do.

But what's really great about SIB is that they staff with volunteers. For the cost of a day's labor, you get free admission for the day, plus beer tickets for tasting. You can choose one, two, or three days of volunteer work, and get compensated in beer tickets based on how many days you're there.

SIB is looking for volunteers now, so sign up and drink for free.

The volunteering slots have all been filled for weeks now, except for the last session (Sunday 5:45pm-8:45) which is the least desirable. Also it's not actually possible to get free beer tickets/admission by volunteering like you suggest, since the last session doesn't give free tokens ($25 gift cert to Taphouse instead).

Thanks for the info--Are you affiliated with SIB? If so, you should let them know to update all of their website information, banners on other sites, and email announcements, which all state otherwise, still

Nope, not affiliated, but have volunteered in past years. The volunteer slots always fill up really quickly (in April usually) because the repeat volunteers snap up the slots even before SIB really starts advertising it.
