Can't Miss It: Monday
STORM CHASER: Tonight's SIFF pick is a whirlwind of IMAX action. Tornado Alley, which is airing at the Pacific Science Center's gigantic screen tonight, is a thrilling documentary featuring incredible footage and daring feats of film. One of the most comprehensive and risky attempts to capture the birth and evolution of a tornado, this film, by Discovery Channel's Sean Casey, is sure to keep you rapt as the storm rages on.

IMAGINARY, ORDINARY: Don't let anyone tell you otherwise: Architecture in Helsinki is still making music, and they're neither Swedish, nor Finish. The Australian indie powerhouse grace Neumos tonight with their experimental, sometimes-synthy, always-adorable eclectic sounds, just in time to celebrate the release of the band's new album, Moment Bends, which was recorded in Buckingham Palace.

LIKE DANCES WITH WOLVES, BUT BLUE: Get happy, James Cameron fans--the Na'vi people and their weird bushy tails have landed at the Experience Music Project / Sci-Fi Museum. Avatar: The Exhibition opened this weekend, and boasts in-depth explorations of the set and story of the film, interactive spaces to illustrate the use of motion capture technologies and plenty of artifacts. Sure, the exhibit is planning to be in town for the long haul, but you'll want to go now, before all of the unobtanium is used up. And be sure to stay tuned for Suzi's photos of the opening--coming later today.
Avatar: The Exhibition // Now through September 2012 // EMP|SFM // $15
