Seattlest Recommends: Beer Week Events

We understand that between Sasquatch!, SIFF, and Folklife, you may have forgotten that it's also still Seattle Beer Week. And being that it is finally Friday, we recommend you reconnect with your old friends (hops and barley), and get together for a pint or three.

Here are a few good picks to kick off the long weekend:

  • Bottleworks, in Wallingford, is hosting letting the monks take over tonight's Trappist Beer Night. Featuring selections (and representatives) from the five main Trappist abbeys of Belgium five big-name abbeys (four from Belgium and one from the Netherlands): Chimay, Rochefort, Orval, Westmalle and La Trappe, this is your chance to sample some legit monk-made brews, and get all of your monastic questions answered.

    Trappist Beer Night // 5 p.m. // Bottleworks // 1710 N 45th St.

  • Greenwood's premier brewery, Naked City, has put its staff to the test to bring you Pro-Am Night. Tonight, the much-loved servers and bartenders NC will be debuting the brews that they themselves came up with, alongside Brewmaster and co-owner Don Webb. With such a colorful and savvy staff, we can only image what they've cooked up.
    Pro-Am Night // 4 p.m. - 11:45 p.m. // Naked City // 8564 Greenwood Avenue North
  • Meanwhile, in West Seattle, Beveridge Place Pub will be putting out their most full-bodied and wild brews at Bodacious Beverages Night. Perfect for those inquisitive folks in search of curious intoxicants, tonight's even boasts barley wines, sours, fruit-bases concoctions, and anything else the owners can find.

Still not finding what you're looking for? There are a bevvy of beverage-related events tonight. Check out Seattle Beer Week's event listing for the entire lot of them. Happy drinking!

Minor correction - La Trappe is a Dutch abbey, it's not in Belgium.

  • Ach! Thank you for the correction!
