This week, our picks (of course) revolve around the plethora of events surrounding Seattle Beer Week. And yes, we are already plotting our strategy/plan for Tamara Murphy's annual meat-tastic event.

Cider and Cheese Tasting At Quinns:
Six of the major cider houses (Aspall, JK Scrumpys, Tieton, Wandering Aengus and Wescott Bay) will be pouring over a dozen different styles of cider, along with artisanal cheeses for the only cider festival of Seattle Beer Week. Cheese and cider are a dynamic food pairing, complementing each other quite well. This cheesy gathering is sponsored by the NW Cider Association. Speaking of cider, stop by The Noble Fir Sunday for the Snowdrift Cider keg release party.

May 23, 6-9pm // Quinn's Gastro Pub (1001 East Pike St) // Tickets $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Call Quinn's at (206) 325-7711 for reservations.

Traditional Taiwanese Night Market at UW:
100 Bites of Taiwan includes over 100 small plates, games and music. We'd like to note that YouTube "sensation" Jason Chen will be part of the musical entertainment. The food vendor to note: Bellevue's Din Tai Fung will be dishing up their excellent shrimp and pork wonton with spicy sauce.

May 21st, 6-10pm// University of WA Red Square//Admission is free, purchase food vouchers online.

Third Thursday Art Walk (And eat at Il Corvo):

Yeah yeah, we know this is a food column, so we won't talk much about the art walk component. But tonight is the third Thursday artwalk around Pike Place Market. What we are really excited about is that the tiny pasta spot, normally only open at lunch, Il Corvo will be open past 3pm. They'll be plating toothsome pasta inspired by the market from 5-8 p.m. tonight. They also boast a mean Champaign-gelato float.

May 19, 5-8pm // Il Corvo (1501 Western Ave, Suite 300) // Cash Only, Menu Changes Daily

Burning Beast: Save The Date

You know how there's one big party every year that you simply can't miss? This is it: two months from now some of Seattle's best chefs will be cooking over fire. Tamara Murphy's annual event at Smoke Farm always sells out. So far this years chef list is impressive including Holly Smith, Maria Hines and Josh Henderson. Save the date, bring your friends, a case or two of your favorite Washington wine, a rack of PBR and your tent and you are set for the ultimate day.

Sunday July 17 3pm-dawn // Smoke Farm (12731 Smokes Road, Arlington WA) // $75 per person
