- A potential black bear sighting (read: not attack, not encounter, just sighting) prompted officials at Northshore Junior High and Woodmoor Elementary to place students under a moderate lock-down, which allowed them to continue going to class, but could not leave the building.
- Internet provider (we use the term loosely) Clearwire has handed over around 700 employees to Ericsson amid a major restructuring that involves changes in network engineering, operations and maintenance. This is Clearwire's second big cut in the last year.
- Amazon has announced its fifth publishing imprint, Thomas & Mercer, which will focus on the sure-thing genre of mysteries and thrillers. At least publishing won't die--its power will just be consolidated into the hands of a few.
