Sunday is Mother's Day, duh, and if this piece of news isn't already Captain Obvious to you, it's a good thing you're reading this week's edition of Food Frenzy. Here are few mom-centric events and places we suggest treating her to on the special day. PS- not just for biological moms. Perhaps a special woman in your life deserves something extra? Regardless, it's an excuse to drink some sparkling wine and eat.

Salty's Brunch: All You Can Eat with a View!
Really we just need to say one thing: all you can eat seafood- crab, shrimp and salmon! Hopefully the weather gods will cooperate. Salty's weekend brunch offers a traditional brunch spread, live jazz music and a million dollar view. Mothers Day weekend brunch is pretty popular so we recommend calling ahead to make reservations now.

Saturday May 7th, 8:45am-1pm & Sunday May 8th, 7:30am-2:45pm// Saltys on Alki (1936 Harbor Avenue) //Adults $44.95/$47.95 (see website for more details).

Mothers Day Dinner in the hood at Volunteer Park Cafe:
Bringing the family together at the table, that's what moms do best. A family style dinner at Volunteer Park Cafe featuring seasonal/local ingredients like olive oil poached halibut with asparagus, roasted baby potatoes with a lemon aioli. We're pretty sure the whole family will be content.

May 8, 6pm// Volunteer Park Cafe (1501 17th Ave E)//$65 per adult, $15 per child, reservations online.

Spend the day at SAM: Brunch at Taste:
Seattle Art Museum is offering free admission for moms! See the raved about exhibit Nick Cave: Meet Me at the Center of the Earth. While getting cultured, be sure to eat brunch at Taste SAM highlighting some of Washington's best producers. Their signature Sunday brunch includes pereniel favorites like chicken and biscuits, french toast and short rib hash. Insiders tip: don't miss desserts.

Spring Hill's Brunch Bar:
Want a more casual route? Take mom to Spring Hill's newest addition, brunch bar. Drink a current affair (vodka soaked currents, creme de cassis & sparkling wine) and nosh on sausage beignets, deviled eggs, steak tartare and milk curds. First come, first serve, we expect the bar to fill quick for the stellar food and atmosphere (Seattlest is a big fan of Spring Hill).
