YOU CAME TO BANG, BANG: Based on the book of the same title, The Bang Bang Club is about four photographers (two of whom won Pulitzers) whose pictures captured the final days of apartheid and the birth of a new South Africa. The film tells the story of these men and their photo editor who protected them and ensured their photographs were seen throughout the world. Bang Bang Club recounts the relationships between the four photographers and the stresses, tensions and moral dilemmas of working in situations of extreme violence and suffering.

HER GREEN PLASTIC WATERING CAN: In Plastic: A Toxic Love Story, Susan Freinkel assesses the impact of plastic on our health, environment, and economy. Freinkel chronicles our history with plastic through eight familiar plastic objects: the comb, chair, Frisbee, IV bag, disposable lighter, grocery bag, soda bottle, and credit card. Plastics require fossil fuels, leach harmful chemicals, litter landscapes, and destroy marine life. Yet our consumption continues to increase, with more plastic produced in the past decade than in the entire twentieth century

ROOKIE OF THE MONTH: With a 33-pitch first inning, the outcome of yesterday's match-up didn't seem promising. But after pitching seven innings, allowing two runs on two hits, Erik Bedard got the win. The Mariners have won six of seven and take on the division leading Rangers again tonight. Help support the streak by cheering on Pineda (AL Rookie of the Month) as he takes the mound against C.J. Wilson.
