The Fleet Foxes Have A New Album & They Are Playing Two Sold Out Shows
Robin Pecknold and his crew of perfectly harmonized musicians are at it again. We hope this isn't news to you. Because, honestly, if it is you need to get out more. Sorry. Truth hurts sometimes. Fleet Foxes' second full-length, Helplessness Blues, is out Tuesday and the glowing reviews are already rolling in. Critics expect that it will debut in the Billboard Top 10. Would we expect anything less from our boys?
Seriously, nearly every critic loves it. Spin Magazine, the New York Times, and Rolling Stone all praise Helplessness Blues and commend Pecknold for his introspective lyrics. NPR has the whole thing streaming until its release Tuesday (you still have time to listen to it!). Even Pitchfork gave it their seal of approval with a "Best New Music" stamp, saying, "Helplessness Blues is comparatively deeper, more intricate, and more complex, a triumphant follow-up to a blockbuster debut."
To celebrate and promote their new album, Fleet Foxes are performing at the Moore Theater Monday and Tuesday night. Don't bother trying to get a ticket--both nights have been sold-out for weeks. After these shows, the band will embark on a mostly sold-out North American and European tour. Catch 'em if you can because if last week's show at Columbia City Theater is any indication, these shows promise to be outstanding.
