Taking Punk to the Masses: Opening Tomorrow

... But we're going tonight. Don't worry, we'll tell you all about it this weekend, in case you yourself can't attend until next First Thursday.

And if you've been living under a rock, a reminder: Alex previewed the EMP's new exhibit, Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses way back in 2010, and we've been counting down to it ever since. And we're not the only ones: the EMP actually has a counter on their website.

We've heard a lot of hype (including from some dear friends at Fantagraphics books, back at Comicon), but we've really only got one hope for the exhibition: that it's less pretty, less curated, and less stoic that SAM's "Kurt," which mostly made us sad, because it wasn't even close to what he would have wanted. And while nothing in a gallery or museum ever could be, we have high hopes that EMP might at least land closer.
