Yesterday, we followed the Twitter clues posted by editor Dana Cowin leading to the elite ten recognized by Food & Wine. Jason Stratton, last year's Seattle representation for Best New Chef Tweeted along eagerly, guessing correctly.
Canlis' Jason Franey, also the People's Choice winner for Best New Chef NW, is one of the ten chefs recognized by the esteemed Food & Wine magazine. According to F&W, he's best known for "introducing avant-garde flourishes to a venerable 60-year-old institution in Seattle." In plain words, he's a fantastic cook with food knowledge and skill bringing another level of dinning to Canlis.
Congrats Chef Jason Franey. You are in a league of incredible chefs. A well deserved recognition.
Canlis is also participating for the second time in Seattle Restaurant Week. Those lucky enough to secure a reservation will be eating food from an award winning chef. Although, if you've already tasted Franey's cooking, you'll know it's very good.
