We know what you're thinking: duh. Dinosaurs are extinct. And you know, we are aware. It pains us every day. However, the kind folks at Woodland Park Zoo, in partnership with U.S. Bank and the Seattle Times, are doing all that they can to assuage the heartache of not having actual, alive dinosaurs-- by bringing in animatronics.

From the press release:

The limited-engagement, outdoor exhibit setting will evoke a primeval forest where visitors will encounter the mighty dinosaurs, from the 19-foot-tall herbivore Brachiosaurus to a full-size, fearsome Tyrannosaurus rex. Visitors will encounter more than 10 dinosaurs representing seven species that once roamed North America throughout the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods.

Yes, beginning in April, you too, can experience the thrill of dinosaurs that move, roar, hiss, and generally are awesome.

Thanks, Zoo.

Oh sure, animatronic dinosaurs get money, but the Nocturnal House gets shut down.
