It's almost impossible to keep a pulse on the plethora of food related events and happenings in Seattle. Savor SLU: Benefit for JDRF
In case you are hiding under a rock, South Lake Union is quickly becoming the "it" neighborhood in Seattle, Amazon being the epicenter with a growing urban lifestyle surrounding. Here's your chance to "discover SLU" whilst noshing on bites from the vast array of neighborhood restaurants plus supporting a worthy cause at Savor SLU. Fresh Screening & Discussion to Support Danny Woo Garden:

Feeling exasperated with our current food system? Want to make a difference? The movie, Fresh, is exactly up your alley. Fresh focuses on celebrating the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Bonus, the screening on March 29 will support the Danny Woo Garden in the International District, founded to educate youth and build community within the International District. The one and a half acre community space seeks to unite generations of gardeners and engage youth in the practice of the farm-to-table movement Meet the chickens, learn more about gardening and participate in a lively discussion following the film. Bake it in a Cake Party at Cakespy Shop:
Yeah yeah, we know the reign of the cupcake is technically over, but how can we not resist the cute factor of bake it in a cake, the wildly popular website that well, you guessed it, bakes various treats in a cake. Megan Seling and the queen of all things sugary delicious, Jessie Oleson (Cakespy) will be selling tasty treats at the Cakespy shop this Saturday. Your sweet tooth will surely not be disappointed in the least. March 26, 12pm-5pm//Cakespy Shop (415 E Pine)//Free but bring your dollars to buy cupcakes, assorted desserts and adorable artwork.

Grow A Farmer in Madison Park:

Remember those pellets that magically grew an animal with a bit of water? Sorry, dinner at Madison Park Conservatory won't be quite the same. Instead we anticipate a magical evening with Vashon Island farmer, author and purveyor of delicious cheese, Kurt Timmermeister. Direct from the MPC crew: "This night will be for the lactose celebrant. Dinner includes welcome bubbles and snacks, family-style dinner, sangria, dessert, and--of course--a reading." Japan and Kentucky: A Conversation, with Whiskey
In an ideal world school would encompass libations. Night School at the Penthouse of the Sorrento does just that; bringing together experts to give us drinking lessons. Mr. Makers Mark, Cody Rossen and Neyah White, the West Coast ambassador for Yamazaki and Hibiki Japanese Whiskies will teach the hows and whys of whiskey. Not your dreaded history class taught by someone old enough to be your grandmother. You'll taste six exquisite bottles of Kentucky and Japanese whiskeys. In light of the recent tragedies, all proceeds of the evening will go directly to Doctors Without Borders to support their efforts in Japan.
