Sunday Morning Coming Dawgs

After last night's somewhat sloppy and nerve wracking victory over the Georgia Bulldogs, the University of Washington Huskies kept their streak of opening NCAA Tournament wins going and are advancing to round two.

After a dreadful offensive display in the first half and being tied at half time, the Dawgs managed to eek it out, in part thanks to freshmen C.J. Wilcox's free throws and Isaiah Thomas' tip of Georgie's last minute Hail Mary. Missing what seemed like basket after basket the first fifteen minutes of play, we were discouraged and spent as much time googling Lorenzo Romar's cheerleader daughter (did you know it's possible to look like Romar but still be pretty? Weird, right?) as watching with any focus or hope.

We're of course thrilled with any 'W', but are also wondering if there was any way they could have made us more nervous while still winning...they weren't looking tip top and it's going to take a lot more to beat 2 seed North Carolina. They're capable, let's hope the right team shows up to compete. Let's hope Terrence Ross somehow manages to find himself in an other-than-terrible position defensively. Let's hope M.B.A. doesn't get two fouls in the first 2 minutes. Let's hope N'diaye (handjive) gets 692 rebounds.

We're pumped as pumped can be to watch the Huskies proceed to the East region quarterfinal tomorrow morning against No. 2 North Carolina at 9:15 a.m. So get up, grab a mimosa, check up on I.T.'s twitter (because it's amazing) and get woofing!
