It's almost impossible to keep a pulse on the plethora of food related events and happenings in Seattle. Seattlest weeds through the multitude of options and brings YOU the cream of the crop in our weekly column, Food Frenzy. We've got the beat on special restaurant events, booze-related happenings, cooking classes and basically anything food-related because what's not love about eating and drinking in our city?
Alinea's Grant Achatz Cooks & Books Event:
Three Michelin star restaurant Alinea chefs Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas discuss their new memoir, Life, On the Line. Known for cutting edge, progressive American cuisine drawing on stints at El Bulli and The French Laundry. Considered one of the best restaurants in the US, the molecular gastronomist discusses his battle with stage IV cancer while rising to the top. Hosted by Tom Douglas Restaurants in conjunction with Kim Ricketts, your $45 ticket includes a signed copy oft he book, appetizers and a glass of wine. Ticket sales benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, $10 extra they'll reserve a chair with additional funds benefiting LLS.

826 Benefit Dinner at Place Ballroom:
Save the Date to support 826, the national network founded by Dave Eggers to teach kids to write and incorporating literacy into their lives through tutoring and extra school activities. Our local 826 chapter also offers writing workshops for adults with local food writers including Langdon Cook.Tom Douglas will host a benefit dinner April 29 for the Seattle chapter, at $200 a seat, it's expensive, but it benefits an amazing charity and the opportunity to rub elbows with Eggers, Tom Robbins and other literary giants. Tickets on-sale March 16. On a non-food related note, Seattlest favorite and Tacoma local, Neko Case is auctioning off her classic 1967 Mercury Cougar featured on the cover of her last album Middle Cyclone to benefit 826.

Micro Ballard Farmers Market Class with Amy Pennington:
Dish It Up in Ballard brilliantly will help you navigate and be inspired by seasonal and fresh ingredients at the Ballard Farmers Market with the aid of Amy Pennington. Local urban gardening and preserving maestro Pennington has another soon to be released book entitled, Apartment Gardening. Post your shopping adventure, Pennington will create two impromptu dishes using market selections.

Whole Goat Sunday Feast at Tavolàta:
Family Style Dinner this Sunday at Ethan Stowell's Tavolàta served at the 30-foot communal table includes a whole goat, grilled then roasted and served with Rapini and Fried Potatoes. Future Sunday Feasts planned include Wild Fowl & Eggs (April 3), Roasted Duck (July 10) and a Suckling Pig (Sept 11).

Bacon Maple Cupcakes at Cupcake Royale:
Post our pork frenzy at Cochon 555, we are still pretty excited about this gem of a cupcake this month only at Cupcake Royale. Frosted with a Jameson Irish Whiskey Maple Buttercream and sprinkled with pieces of Zoe's Meats bacon, there's nothing but good yummyness sprouting from the flavor of the month.
