This or That: Mad Rad Makes Some Noise for the Needy

radjaw.jpg Here at Seattlest Music we love to know everything we can about our favorite local musicians. Does that make us stalkers? Perhaps. We'd like to think of it as adoring from afar. Luckily, most of the members of the Seattle music scene are extremely kind individuals and love being involved however they can. We decided to help you guys get to know these wonderful people through a quickie "interview" of sorts. After compiling a list of Seattle "rivalries" it was sent off to some of our favorite artists. We put no constraints on how they choose or respond, so who knows what you're going to get? Replies have been pouring in, so it's time to share with you! Every Wednesday you can come back to Seattlest to check in on your favorite locals.

needy.jpg They have a fantastic show coming up at Neumos with Truckasaurus and Junkie XL. This is no ordinary show, however. It's the kickoff for Noise for the Needy. "What's that?" you may be asking yourself and you can pat yourself on the back because it's a great question. Noise for the Needy (NFTN) is a Seattle-based nonprofit organization whose goal is to raise money for charitable causes through the production of live music shows. This particular kickoff party is way more than just a concert, it's an all out event.

According to the Noise folks, the show is themed around the graphic novel Shinjuku. The author, Mink, is a big NFTN supporter, and he wanted to do a signing in Seattle to support NFTN. For the event, Neumos will be decked out like the club Poppies, which plays a central role in Shinjuku. There will be costumed characters, projections, contests and much more. It’s not your regular gig at Neumos, to be sure. That sounds like a hell of a lot of fun, and we're super psyched to be a part of it. You should come out too, it's pratically free with only a ten dollar cover charge.

Thurs. March 10th // Neumos // Doors 8pm // tix $10 adv.
