Can't Miss It: Monday
WINDOW SHOPPING: If you haven't already, today is your last chance to check out Storefronts, an interactive exhibition at various vacant retail spaces around town. Designed to engage these cultural dead zones, Storefronts puts to use empty windows and displays in Pioneer Square and the ID. Print off a walking map from the Storefronts homepage, then head south to see this interesting art event before it closes up shop.

WORDS WITH FRIENDS: Put down your Droid and do something for someone else; Monday night Scrabble tournaments at Skylark Cafe are all about charity (and beating the pants off your least literary friends.) All skill levels are welcome, and each week sends the funds raised to various non-profits in the area. Tonight's game benefits Books to Prisoners, an all-volunteer organization that promotes literacy within the prison system. Get there on time to register - the tiles come out of the bag at 7:15. Note: This is the last night that Scrabble tournaments will be held on Monday nights at Skylark - beginning next week, Scrabble will be saved for Saturdays, with Mondays featuring karaoke.
7:00 p.m. // Skylark Cafe, 3803 Delridge Way SW // $5
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT: Is there something strange in your neighborhood? No need to call anyone - just attend tonight's City Neighborhood Council meeting. These meetings, held monthly, provide "a forum for a discussion of common neighborhood issues," as well as an opportunity for community members to seek advice on the policies surrounding the neighborhood planning, budget and assistance programs. In the past, CNC meetings have lead to coordinated efforts to retain funding to critical programs, made requests of the mayor and influenced decision making.

THE KING AND YOU: You could use a little more of the Bard's wisdom, couldn't you? The National Theatre, in collaboration with the Donmar Warehouse, presents King Lear, performed live and broadcast at SIFF in "stunning definition." Led by Artistic Director Michael Grandage, this presentation combines the thrill of live theater, with the high definition of SIFF's impressive cinema experience. Co-presented by the 98.1 Classical KING FM and The Seattle Repertory Theatre, this special engagement may sell out - buy tickets online, or show up early.
