Meet the new Director of the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs tonight
As we previously mentioned, the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs has hired a new sheriff. Vincent Kitch, currently the Cultural Arts Program Manager for the City of Austin, will be taking the helm of the government agency (pending City Council approval) April 4th and is town this evening to meet and greet with his new city.
Mayor McGinn will be there to introduce Vincent and the shin-dig lasts from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Remarks from the mayor and Vincent beginning at 6 p.m. There will be food and beverages and music performed by Julio Jauregui and his trio. RSVPs not necessary.
We imagine this is a great opportunity to hobnob with the arts & cultural elite of the city as well as to hear the new vision for the important city department. They are, like so many others, battling to do more work with less budget and it's now more than ever that the arts & culture community should be paying attention to the structures behind the scenes. See you there!
