Hermès. Big time. Bravern. Be there.
Sometimes it can be hard to be a fashionista (what's the male equivalent, fashionisto?) in Seattle. While we certainly have our own trends and passion, our density simply cannot always compete with the likes of New York and Paris. That's why when Hermès announces it's launching a multi-city, international festival, Festival des Mètiers (The Festival of Crafts), we're allowed to yelp and squeal like kids in a candy store. Or, kids in a Trophy Cupcakes store, since it's right there.
The interactive event is free to the public and will be at the Bravern in Bellevue today through the 28th (photo gallery here). Meet the craftsmen and artisans of one of the world's most luxurious (and oh-so-gorgeous) brands and learn about the specific techniques behind some of the highly-skilled trades, including leather making, silk printing & engraving, saddle making, tie making, watch making, glove making, and diamond setting. Diamond setting! From Hermès!! Education and jealousy-inducing; you're about to get fashion schooled.
