Canlis Strikes Again: Clues, Contests, Codes and a Pop-Up Restaurant
Seattlest reported earlier this week the nominees for Food & Wine's People's Best New Chef competition. And now the masterminds at Canlis are once again using the forces of social media and Seattle landmarks to promote a cause. Late last year, Canlis captivated Seattle with the menu hunt to celebrate the storied restaurant's 60th anniversary, sending clues on Facebook and Twitter leading to the golden menu.
This time there's a new twist: A series of artsy black and white photos featuring the brothers Canlis wearing their "Vote for Jason" sandwich boards around town contain hidden Morse code clues hinting to a pop-up restaurant chef Jason Franey is launching. The grand prize for deciphering the code: free dinner.
Eater has the whole story (though the blog refers to the duo in the photos simply as "two guys"). Mark and Brian Canlis, you both are visionaries, keeping us tuned in and captivated. The game is on and we are excited to see what's next!
Tomorrow's pic is on top of the Space Needle; see some preliminary footage here.
