Hey, will you look at that! Corky Luster, purveyor of millions of pollinators and all-around nice guy, has been nominated as a finalist in the inaugural VISIONary of the Year Awards. Luster's urban pollination work with Ballard Bee Company (whom we profiled last year in an interview) has had a significant impact on the health of the local honeybee population and Seattle's urban agriculture and food communities.

The VISIONary of the Year Awards are hosted by AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), a technology company. Nine nominees in three categories - food, photography and entrepreneurship - have each been awarded cash and merchandise equal to $2,500; the winners in each category will each receive an additional $20,000.

Nominees can be voted for until April 30th. Winners will be announced in June. I'll be sure to grab Corky for a conversation if when he wins.
