Can't Miss It: Tuesday
OM NOM NOM: Let’s be real - Valentine's Day is a crap holiday. If you're single, you feel extra single (and not in a good way). And if you're not single, it's just any other day because, well, you hang out with that person that you always hang out with all the time anyways, so what's the big deal? Let me tell you how Valentine's Day is not crap: the consumption of lots and lots of delicious candy and other assorted sweets is totally encouraged. (Inner fat kids rejoice!) In keeping with this theme, Cupcake Royale on Capitol Hill and in Bellevue are hosting a Sprinkle-Your-Own-Cupcake party - with a Valentine’s Day twist. Here's how it works: buy a naked cupcake for $3 and step up to the DIY Valentine Sprinkle Zone, frost it up with special sprinkles and give it to someone you love (like your stomach).
2 pm - 4 pm // Cupcake Royale (Capitol Hill & Bellevue) // $3
WHO HAS THE BEST FACE SWEATER?: Beard and Stache Fest 2011 is underway. Oh, "what's Beard and Stache Fest?" you say. Well, it is a cage-match-style fight to the death to determine who in Seattle has the best of the best facial hair. Okay, that's not entirely true. There are no cage matches and there is no dying. But it is a monthlong competition to determine which team of mustachioed and/or bearded lads is the best band of mustachioed and/or bearded lads in the land. So, teams raise money for Treehouse (a local non-profit that helps foster children live regular kid lives) and the team that raises the most money wins. Tonight, you have your pick - will you support Volksbart at People's Pub in Ballard? Or will you support The Deathwish at Linda's Tavern on Capitol Hill?
6 pm // Linda's Tavern or People's Pub // That is up to you...
HEATING THINGS UP: Remember that one time that you just gave up and decided to watch the J.Lo / Richard Gere romance flick Shall We Dance? and were so inspired that you made a promise to yourself to learn how to salsa like a pro? No... That didn't happen to you? ... Well, that doesn't really matter because you can still learn how to salsa. Once a month Teatro ZinZanni hosts a Latin Dance Night that includes a free dance lesson followed by live music and lots of sexy dancing.
7:30 pm // Teatro ZinZanni // $12
