Safeco Field Gets Concessions From Ethan Stowell

We're excited about the new concessions and all...but don't lose the poutine.
Last year the big food news out of Safeco Field was the addition of poutine. This year, the facility is bringing in local chef-about-town Ethan Stowell and two other non-local chefs with some culinary bona fides to further upgrade Seattle's ballpark food.

According to a Mariners press release, the left-center field food court, known as The Bullpen Market is adding the following:

• Apizza with Chef Bill Pustari

• Flying Turtle Cantina/Tortugas Voladoras with Chef Roberto Santibañez

• Hamburg + Frites with Chef Ethan Stowell

• La Crêperie, Authentic Parisian Crêpes with Chef Ethan Stowell

Santibañez is a Mexico City native and executive chef of Fonda San Miguel in Austin, Texas. Pustari is known for the New Haven-style thin crust pizza served at his Modern Apizza in (surprise) New Haven, Connecticut. And if you don't know Stowell...well then you probably don't care enough about food to read this post anyway. Go visit one of his restaurants or pick up his cookbook and do your homework.

Crepes and hamburgers are a bit of a departure from Stowell's rustic Italian-meets-Pacific Northwest leanings. But hey, new burger spots have been sweeping the city of late (we're thinking of BuiltBurger, Dope Burger, a relocated Lunchbox Laboratory and Uneeda Burger from Quinn's and Restaurant Zoe owner Scott Staples). We're definitely looking forward to Stowell's version.
